First, Michele asked what board this exchange was on? It’s one of only two exchanges that occur annually on the VSCyberstitchers Yahoo group, for people who have attended one or more of the cyberclasses available on The Victoria Sampler website. We get our recipient information in January-ish, so there’s a lot of time to work on the project, but I’m running a bit close this year. The target destination date is July 25th.
Second, I finished the personalization, took the piece off of the scroll frame to cut the hardanger portion and realized that the fabric isn’t what I thought it was and, as such, I do not have another piece to be able to stitch the scissors fob. So, I guess I will bead up an impromptu fob, which should be quicker anyway. Either that, or I will just make a small, stuffed fob out of the lining material. I think I’ll end up buying more of that particular color of fabric, though, as I really like it.
In the meantime, the hardanger section is cut and waiting for me to put it back on the scroll frame tomorrow for weaving. I’m not sure if I will d oit tomorrow or wait until Friday when I’m sure that I can devote the time to do the entire section all at one time, for uniformity in my weaving. If I don’t do it tomorrow, I will take the time to decide what to do with the scissors fob and/or prepare the finishing materials.
I also just received an offer tonight to stitch a model for a new (to me) designer. I would have three to four weeks to complete a design that is 76w x 53h with overdyed threads. I have seen the design (it’s already been published), so now I’m giving myself overnight to sleep on my decision. I hate to get into another obligation right now, but I would also hate to turn now the opportunity to work with another designer. I hope that my mind will tumble the concept around and around until it spits out a smooth, well-polished answer that is best for me when I wake up in the morning. We’ll see. 🙂
