Edited to fix the title. Can you tell that I was exhausted when I wrote this? 😮
With Terry being sick, I hadn’t bothered to check the mail in a few days, so yesterday’s mail retrieval along with taking the trash out yielded a bundle of mail. Inside was a manila envelope from Cathy that I had been expecting. She and I had talked about the lovely suncatchers that she had made for Becky in SC and another fellow stitching blogger a few months ago. The book that she used is no longer in print, so she wrote to the author and got permission to copy the one specific pattern that I had admired so much. However, I wasn’t expecting it in a large envelope, since she could have easily folded it up and put it into a regular envelope.
So, when I opened it, I was quite pleasantly surprised! She not only included the photocopy of the chart, but also three hardanger charts by Donna Olson of Satin Stitches, who is the designer of the doilies that Cindy has stitched which I admired so greatly. 🙂 She sent me Small White Doily, Spring Flower Round (which is a new design) and Sue’s Doily and Bookmark.
Cindy is really a sweetheart to have sent me these just because! And I cannot tell you how great her timing was. With Terry and I both being sick recently, I’ve been cooped up in the house for a couple of weeks now. Cindy’s surprise package gave me a much-needed pick-me-up. I’m excited to start one of these, but I have to make sure that I’m good and finish what I have going right now first!
Those are great gifts and I’m glad you received such a lovely pick-me-up. But it’s from Cathy, not Cindy? 😉
How is Terry now? Hope you can both resume a normal life this week 🙂 Hugs!
What a great suprise, I hope you’re both feeling better now.
What a beautiful surprise for you.
The gifts were a wonderful pick me up surprise!
Ah! It’s always nice to get surprises like that. 😀
Can we have pictures? 😉 (‘Me name is Outi and I’m pic-a-holic.” *giggles*)
How kind of Cathy! What a great surprise for you 🙂
What an awesome surprise – she’s so sweet! 🙂 I look forward to seeing the finished products 😀
Cathy is a special stitcher!! How kind of her to send the suncatcher pattern info AND the additional hardanger patterns!
You were RAK’d but good Jenna : )
Hey Jenna – you are welcome. I so appreciate the many friendships I’ve made through blogging and this is one way to give something back. I’m glad you enjoyed the package and I hope that one day you will enjoy stitching one of the designs from Satin Stitches!
How nice to get a wonderful surprise from Cathy! I know you’ll get extra enjoyment stitching them since they came from her! 😀
Hi Jenna,
Can you please email me with your mailing address info again? Unfortunately after all the original problems we went through, I have deleted or put your info into a folder where I can’t find it now!! So sorry about this. I *know* I got it once. I can’t believe I wouldn’t have moved it directly into the correct folder, but I am missing one name–yours. I plan on swapping names on Saturday, so if you can send it to me again before then I would be *greatly* appreciative!!! Thanks!!! Danielle (love the eight corner pillow you stitched by the way!!)
