Karen V emailed me today to let me know that my floss tag arrived at her house. I’m embarrassed of my efforts having now seen the tag that she made for me, but it is what it is. Just a bit on the large side. If I were to do it again, I would stitch the design over one.
The design is called Hedgehog Quaker and is a freebie from The Workbasket. The alphabet that I used for the back is JBW Designs’ French Country ABCs. I stitched it 2 over 2 using Maple Syrup GAST on gray evenweave.
I tried to do a little bit of a satin stitch decorative edging on the sides, overtop of the whipstitched edge, but I don’t think that it worked out very well. Oh well, Karen has graciously said that she liked it, so I will have to be satisfied with that. 🙂
Honestly Jenna, it’s lovely! 🙂 It’s actually not that much bigger than the one I made you, deeper perhaps, but not much longer. Please don’t feel embarrassed, I really do like it and I’m using it already! 🙂
I’ve also done satin stitching along the seams, and I have to admit that I wasn’t quite satisfied with mine. And all that extra work it takes! 😉
I think your floss tag came out great – it is such a fun design, and I really love it done in this warm brown. 😀
Both are beautiful!
Hi, I found your site cause I’m looking for Lorri Birmingham’s “the four seasons”. It’s my understanding that you have it for sale, is that correct? Can you please contact me, thank you so much,
Bianca
Both tags are lovely!
Beautiful! I just love this little hedgehog design. I may have to stitch him again after seeing this. What a great idea to make him into a floss ring tag!
